Hi guys,
I hope you had a nice Holidays with family, friends or even by yourself. I haven't posted in a while and it was about time.

I'm still working on revamping ORS' nine chapters, adding and modifying stuff here and there, as I've been talking about in the past: redoing all Stan scenes, updating some crappy drawings and tweaking or expanding on some particular scenes. And when all that's done, I'm planning to move forward with my plans to release on Steam.

On a more personal note, I already talked about the burnout I was feeling after releasing chapter 9, and I took some time off during the holidays to recharge. Working on ORS is a real challenge and the pressure is real, especially now that I have to manage many things aside from just writing and drawing.

I feel like I'm taking way more time than I should, and that gets kind of stressful, since I was used (like you were) to a constant and steady release cycle. I've been keeping a very consistent work schedule during these past 4 years and it's allowed me to push out update after update, and I need to get back to that, but I've also become aware that I need to make it sustainable for myself too. In any case, I guess I'm afraid to lose all the good will I've cultivated during these past few years if I start slipping, and that's something I can't allow myself to do.

In any case, my plans and commitment to the project have not changed and I'm eager to share with you what I create. As always, I just want to keep things transparent with you guys, even if sometimes I have to talk about some personal issues that don't have to do much with the game itself. I know I've been taking longer than usual to engage and release new content, and I'm sorry for that. Work still goes on, though, and I hope to make your wait and support worthwhile once again

I can't say when the revamped 9 chapters will be completed yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Can you guess which scene is getting a complete makeover judging by the picture above?

At first I thought is whether Holly would become more confident in herself as a person, not letting anyone else bring her down and making independent decisions rather than constantly relying on Ian / Lena for acknowledgment. But it seems like while it does so, it also pushes her into Ivy's arms and changes her into a more sexually adventurous person because that's what Holly wants to be. It wouldn't be a bad idea if Ivy didn't gain such a huge influence over Holly. However, there's a way to avoid that, and that's leaving Ivy's place early in Chapter 8.

So it's safe to say that we won't be getting ch 10 any time soon. Once she's done reworking all the scenes from ch 1 to 9, she will start on ch 10.

In all likelihood, Chapter 9 Revised drops in February, and then there are another 3-4 months for Chapter 10.

There's no grinding or complex game mechanics, if that's what you mean.

It's a straightforward "choose your path" visual novel, going through the story scene by scene, with your decisions impacting what scenes you visit in the future.

So who’ll take the job of going back in the game to check which scene has similar lighting to this illustration?

I don’t think it’s any of the earlier photoshoots with Seymour, as the light in a professional photo studio doesn’t match with this illustration. The colours seem kind of similar to the photoshoot with Axel in chapter 9 … but I think the shoes are the same as the ones Seymour made her wear in chapter 9? That was without any clothing, though, but letting Lena start that scene with some lingerie, and then gradually remove it, would’ve made Seymour’s dirty intentions slightly more subtle at first, which I think the scene would’ve benefited from.

Edit: Seymour also makes a point out of how the contract restricts him from doing any sexual to her … unless she clearly states it’s OK (or something along those lines). I suspect half of the pleasure he wants from all of this, is to get Lena to be the one to beg him for it, not the other way round. With that in mind it would make sense to give Lena the chance to undress for him of her own choice.

Considering her post above it is obvious that we are not going to see Chapter 10 until at least next fall. All that tinkering with the earlier chapters is just a way to postpone the work on the next chapter. She probably doesn't know how to continue the game (or even worse doesn't want to). She has a problem with the writing of the story, it seems.

Unfortunately this game can't be play until the end. I played good girl gone bad many times recently. This type of games is fun to reach the end as it has many ending. Waiting to reach the last chapter.

There’s some pictures from that shoot where she’s sitting down, but is it on a similar furniture? (A tuffet, is that the name in english?) I can’t remember, but if that’s the case, it would be a big hint, of course.

It’s not impossible that it’s from that scene, but the lighting isn’t the same, as far as I can recall. And also I would be surprised if she felt it needed a complete makeover — it’s pretty good both story and art wise already, I’d say.

The lighting seems to be the camera flash on a black backdrop (that makes it look purple) which only Seymour had for Lena's first photo shoot.

That's a lot of speculation.

I'm not expecting a Chapter 10 for a long while, but not for the reasons you're guessing. I think she sounds pretty honest in her post and that we could formulate the situation pretty well from it. She's stressed, it's a big workload, she's not happy with some work in the previous chapters & she also wants to get the game to as professional quality as possible before a steam release since it's clear she holds herself to a higher standard than the majority of adult game devs.

I can imagine a Fall 2022 chapter 10 though. Expectations not set high for an earlier release there.

Ah, that seems right. The purple colour of the tuffet reflects on the black backdrop. The outfit is similar to the one she originally had in that scene as well. Thanks for the input!

Not sure why Eva felt the need to give that scene a complete makeover, but if she wants to adjust some of the dynamic between Lena and Seymour before their scene in chapter 9, I guess it makes sense to change how it’s starting off. Lena’s posing could be rather daring as it was, but it’s still a big leap from that to how Seymour orders her around in her apartment.

Changing that photoshoot could also affect the next shoot with Seymour and Axel, I’d say — without necessarily making new art for it. Even though she reflects on how it feels to pose in front of Seymour, that scene feels very much about Axel. Obviously I don’t know what Eva’s intention is, but it would be interesting if we had the chance to choose whether Lena got the most pleasure from the fact that she’s posing with Axel — or that she’s doing it in front of Seymour.

My main point a few comments before yours, was that Lena — who’s happily unaware that she’s the main character of a porn game — didn’t have as obvious reasons to expect it (and nor did she, as far as I can tell).

When she earlier is confronted with the decision of whether she likes working with him or not, it feels like you choose "I don’t think he’s got any bad intentions" rather than "I don’t mind if he’s got bad intentions". But when it turns out his intentions are pretty shady (which should be clear to Lena as well as he presents his deal and the photoshoot plays out), Lena adapts to it a bit too easily, in my view.

The photoshoot with Axel that turned into sex was also not what she had planned, but that was something she knew deep down was likely to happen, and she had plenty of chances to fantasize about it in advance. Making it possible to think about Seymour during one of her masturbation sessions, as an example — or at least fantasize about his power or the submissive position she’s in during their encounters — would’ve made the events in chapter 9 a bit more dynamic and part of a natural progression, I think. But the chapter 9 twist is an important part of his path as well, so maybe it would’ve worked against purpose.

It’s not a big issue, just nitpicking — as we get plenty of chances to do, considering chapter 10 is probably still several months away.

Well, at least I spoke from the player's point of view. As for the corruption path, I agree that it is developing too fast in the case of Seymour. Here Lena gets a little excited during the photo shoot and now she is ready to masturbate and humiliate herself in front of him. Yes, it would not hurt to add at least more thoughts about him, what Lena feels when she is next to him and the opportunity to fantasize, I also agree here.

As for the twist itself: I understand its importance, but now it still feels a little far-fetched and ruins the character's dynamics and impact (as I wrote, I was a little disappointed by his twist on a classic Bondian villain). I was expecting him to be more subtle about Lena and show some interest in Ian, like an invitation to discuss a manuscript with the intention of using the guy to get closer to Lena. It's also clichéd, of course, but it made his character darker and a little less antagonistic and hated by the players. But now everything depends on revamp and subsequent chapters. Perhaps developing this path will cause me to take my words back and make it more interesting as the fuller picture emerges.

Hi there! Can anyone give me an overview of what type of routes you can take in this game? It seems a little more convoluted then Good Girl Gone Bad, if someone could give me an heads up on the bad ends and possible paths I'd be grateful!

It's true that Lena wears the same lingerie as in her first photoshoot with Seymour, but I don't know why Eva would modify that photo session with Seymour, art and write are great, now, knowing that the next update will be about "improving" Stan's character and already having a couple of photo sessions with Stan, it makes me think that maybe now Lena can do that session with Seymour or with Stan, and maybe the drawing that she release is from the session with Stan. Just my thoughts

Other than Stan Eva did say she was improving art and writing on some other scenes she wasn't satisfied with, so the photo shoot ith Seymour could very well be one of those.
