What is your favorite Gintama opening?
| What is your favorite Gintama opening? My favorite: -Donten. I love the tense buildup towards the flashback where Gintoki and his comrades are slicing up aliens, which is the best part. Honorable Mentions: -Sakura Mitsukushi. The part where Gintoki runs towards Shoyo sensei and then is joined by his friends is really nice. It conveys his backstory very well. -Togenkyou Alien. It captures what Gintama is, from the comedic beginning, transitioning to awesomeness and then lapsing back very smoothly. |

| Pray by Tommy Heavenly6 like always, that song always bring back those memories when first time watching the series. I also like Dilemma by Ecosystem too so there is that. |

I still memorize the lyrics even now so I guess that automatically makes it an All-Time fave Honorable Mentions would be: Pride Kakumei by ChicoWithHoneyworks and Let's go out by Amoyamo I just noticed now that all the vocalists of these songs are girls haha (￣▽￣) |

| Single best/favorite: OP 13 - Sakura Mitsukushi What can I say? This is indeed one of the GOATs of anime. Yes, the song itself is a-ma-zing, but it's as if the lyrics were tailor-made for the Courtesan arc, that's just how fitting & flawless it is. And the visuals, oh my... literally orgasmic. Love it so much I even downloaded it. Runner's up: OP 1 - Pray Truly the ideal original OP for Gintama. Lyrically perfect with both the visuals & the series itself. Plus, it sounds amazing! OP 5 - Donten Top tier anime OP. Wonderfully represents the tonal shifts of Gintama. The visuals are great, but the song itself, amazing. OP 10 - Dilemma Love this OP! The song is also amazing, but the visuals is the best. The elevator scene with all the ships -- even Madao! -- and then the line art with all Gintoki's important fights, just excellently weaved together. And let's not forget that beautiful transition from the Disciples to the Kings. OP 11 - Wonderland Perfect OP! Blended together pretty much everything that makes Gintama, and has some dope scenes. Like the Shinsengumi being badass then transitioning to the Thornies. And the ending scene was very delightful. The song as well, very good! OP 12 - LET'S GO OUT Perfect OP for Gintama. Loved the two scenes with the Disciples running. But the entire thing is just whacky shit. And the end is lovely! Honorable mention: OP 15 - Pride Kakumei The lyrics didn't really sync with the visuals, but by god, I absolutely love this song (prolly one of the my Gintama songs!). And what makes the OP itself so lovable is near the end where the lyrcs & audio go soft showing Gintoki's past, then picks up showcasing what he currently has. |

| It's gotta be "Sakura Mitsutsuki"...it's one of the only anime openings that makes me cry whenever I see it. That scene where it cuts to Gin running gets me every time ;_; My second choice from the ones listed would be "Light Infection" and my third would be "Kasanaru Kage" (those Yagyu arc feels). If we were to include the Yorinuki openings though, "Katoniago" would be way up there as well^^ |

| I can't decide because each one are perfect for the arcs of the series they represent. I feel like Sakura Mitsukushi and Know Know Know are the most emotional ones. Togenkyou Alien and Pride Kakumei are the ones representing the anime the best. Donten and Light Infection are alike, they send that same dark and moody vibe we sometimes have in Gintama. And, Beautiful Days is trash. Seriously, I was so disappointed by this one. | I know this won't be in the poll because this is an old thread, so shout out to "I Wanna Be" by SPYAIR, the opening to the most recent season of Gintama. It's no Sakura Mitsutsuki, but it's definitely up there, and genuinely one of the best openings in recent memory. |

| OP 15 Pride no Kakumei, it’s really good!! Love the song, the visuals are beautiful and there is a part where it slows downs and shows Gin’s past, that is sad but also great and I love how it picks up again and in contrast, it shows every character of the series in the end. But also OP 13 Sakura Mitsukushi, it has a nice atmosphere and OP 17 KNOW KNOW KNOW, it’s also amazing! |
