these few episodes .... gonna tear a lot
poor Hina , trying to defend her friend but she got bullied afterward , if you are not strong enough to defend that the result, you'll get bullied as well, but ofc im proud of her courage , not many can do like her , including myself , im not sure if i can do things like she does
Hang in there Hina!!

That was simply one of the most incredible and powerful episodes I've seen so far. That was some really nasty bullying, but Hina did so well despite the expected backlash.

Bravo....

Good episode. I want to watch more so much.
There's always one thing worse than being hurt - it's watching people you love in pain.
And how scared was Momo when Hina was crying, last time people cried that much was probably after the accident. She must have been terrified something bad happened again. I'm glad Momo is still her normal self, caring for her sister with so much love.

I know things are going to get worse from here for Hina and Rei but this was my favorite episode of San-Gatsu no Lion so far, not just because of the focus on Hina but because this episode perfectly illustrates how much Rei has grown as a person and as a man.
Go back to last season and he was so wrapped up in his own neurosis that you could never see him reaching out a hand and wanting to take on responsibility for others like he did in this episode.
This episode highlights the best parts of Hina and Rei as well as Shaft and the series itself, it was a perfect episode.

What a beautiful feels episode, the best one so far. Pleasing aesthetic animation with added melancholic bgm. How amazing this episode really is.

Let's see what Rei will do to this kind of situation as someone who is also a victim of bullying. I guess he won't do anything stupid, from what he thought, that violence won't solve anything.

This break my heart, but I'm glad it healed with the feelings chapter part.

Brilliant, mesmerizing and a wonderful episode, and quite easily the best of the episode of this Season. Bullying and depression is the norm of this show, but the level of intensity, particularly the emotions, was just phenomenal in this episode. It just goes to show how much of a low-life act bullying is and how much damn care the adults give to it not only in the anime world but also the real world.
Can't wait to see what next week's episode has in store for us and I'm particularly curious to know what Rei comes up with.
Solid 5/5 to this episode...

And I would just like to note out the obvious, that this is a real problem in Japan. Like, in other countries it is just a problem, but there it is a *real* one. And the children themselves are only partially at fault, the good-for-nothing adults cowering behind "it's just pranks" and "nothing happened, did not see it" only let the little scums escalate the situation further. I wish more Japanese people had seen at least this particular episode and honestly tried to think about where their values lie...

This might be the best single episode I've watched this year. Everything was on point, from the soundtrack to the cinematography, this is visual narration at its best. They really did the manga justice.

A powerful and moving episode.

I haven't cried this much from an anime in so long. It really hit me hard especially seeing both Hina and Momo crying. :( It was just so sad. I loved when Rei ran after Hina and was able to somehow console her even if for a little while. I just ship them so hard and I wish they get together in the future. Both of them deserve happiness.

Now let's see what Rei will do. I hope he manages to put those bitches in their places so that they won't do this again. It's really sad that this seems to be a big issue in Japan. I sometimes wonder where is the thrill in bullying someone? Is it the sense of power over someone weak? I felt so bad for Hina's friend and that she had no other choice but to move and change schools. No one can blame her as she was driven to do this. Sadly, the adults chose to turn a blind eye despite knowing what's going on. Now Hina is all alone but thankfully she's going to finish school soon and hopefully she won't be seeing those girls again.

Man this episode just broke me down.

I knew to expect this but still I just cried really bad cause I know what kind of hell that life is. I almost wanted to laugh at one point since Hina was crying then Momo started to cry and I was a emotional mess. But like almost every scene, I couldn't stop crying. There were couple of moments where I managed to calm down but god dammit grandpap you made me cry even harder. (˃̥̥ω˂̥̥̥)

Also this show didn't made it overdramatic which was relief cause I just cringe those show where bullying is taken to level where it's just awful but the creators clearly understood why bullying exist even today.

But yeah Hina deserves all the praise and kindness. I wish that I could just hug her and comfort her.
(੭ ˃̣̣̥ ㅂ˂̣̣̥)੭ु Hopefully things will get better for her or else there will be hell to pay. !! o(*≧д≦)o))

I'm almost speechless. This is probably the most emotional and excellent episode I've seen from ANY shows made this year.

I knew what was coming, but for most of the episode, I was pretty much crying along with Hina, Momo and the others. The harsh pain of bullying that Hina went through felt so painful and real, that I want to comfort her and reassure her that everything is ok. :'(

On a personal note, the way she was bullied was something I went through in my childhood, during secondary school. Getting targeted for being weak in my case, but I struggled to understand that reason as I was desperate to find help, but most of the students and teachers simply didn't offer much help or simply turned a blind eye, which made the situation worse. Eventually, like Hina's friend Chiho, I also transferred to a different school.

So, seeing Hina striking at the bullies during the P.E lesson made me shocked at first, but I eventually smiled. I felt that she did the right thing in striking at the bullies who showed no remorse about their actions, and seeing Hina's grandpa say the same thing filled me with happiness.

No one like Hina deserves to be bullied for any reason at all. So I hope that Rei can find a way to resolve Hina's case eventually, although I son't expect to be a quick one.

Overall, this episode really hit home hard for me, and I'm really thankful for it too. This is drama done right, so excellent job Shaft! ^_^

This episode was so triggering for me.
I don't want to play the victim here, but I was bullied in and out of school. I know how bad it feels.
And this anime NAILED it! I've seen anime portray bullying in a very over-the-top way cough*ClioneNoAkari*cough. I also watched Koe no Katachi.
But, this... this episode nailed it! The bullying felt so real.

Oh the feels.... ;_;
I am a huge fan of the manga and eventhough I knew what was coming, I almost started crying. I have come across a lot of issues related to bullying in other animes, anime movies and manga but the way this series handles it is really unique and better than most others.

Even while I read this part in the manga, I hated all the perpetrators and the people who stood by and did nothing. I hated the apathetic leader of the bullying group, there homeroom teacher (although I did feel sorry for her later on). I am so so proud of Hina.

Those bitches I wanna hurt them so bad till they can't even move a finger, I must say
This was the best episode of this series by for me, I was so angry when they laughed
during PE, I had a spoon in my hand I swear I bend it, and wanted to thrust it into there eyes.

Two parts of this episode were the best one, one of them was when Hina run to the bridge and fall, and the other one when Rei said his whole body felt like a heart pounding.

I cried so much during this episode especially because of the music and Rei's masterful narration. 10/5

First I gotta start saying that the animation this ep was amazing.
Loving Hina even more than ever, what a precious child. Everything was so painful but I know she will have the strenght, with the help of her family and Rei, to overcome all that.

A friend like hina would be great.

This might be one of my favourite animes this season and probably the best episode.
The animation is great too.

What's with the teacher though? That teacher irritates me.

It's nice to see the family being there for hinata.

Amazing episode, I really love the scene when Rei chased after Hina and the part where he talked about wanting to rip apart the people who bullied her. The illustrations there where done amazingly. Really love how the narrative changed into Hina in the middle of the ep. it was great. Just such a great ep. everything about this episode was amazing ; - ; They adapted these few chapters SO WELL! Amazing job, Shaft TT^TT

Seeing the absolutely beautiful, sublime animation, especially in the third part of this episode, makes me so eager to see the rest of the arc's adaptation.

but not only that, the music made the entire thing even more amazing.
And to see where Rei is now from where he was in the beginning? I'm absolutely stunned.
They're doing this series so much justice. The feelings we feel are just so, so real and my heart aches from it TT^TT

This episode was one of the best period, everything worked, the art direction and pacing was so on point, the episode just hit all the right notes on an emotional level constantly giving me these jarring shifts between heartbreaking and uplifting, I think it also single handily made hina who i thought was kind of the weakest of the 3 sisters by far my favorite in the span of only 20 minutes. Her attacking the bully in particular was something that totally through me off guard and really sold her as a more human character than before. The way they handled bullying too could of easily gotten melodramatic but they pulled it off so spectacularly that everything hit hard and it started to really remind me of past experiences ive dealt with and seen other sdeal with. I was actually pushing back tears a bit when the grandpa congratulated hina for what she did as it flashed all the news articles of suicides, it really just hit like a truck for me there cause its so common that these people who need just anyone showing kindness to them are often overlooked and their lives are tragically cut short.

That final scene was seriously the best scene in the show, just the simple choice of near dialogless scene of the family sitting around eating back by some of the most fluid and natural animation in the seires, this type of animation is really one of the most impressive but it often gets overlooked due to a lack of flashiness, but that section was seriously so movie quality in how much movement and fluidness there was in every aspect of it in addition to just how many cuts it had.

Bumping my score up to a 9/10, i really try to portion my 9's out to be rare but this series has earned it

Its sad seeing the normally positive and happy Hina cry though. So Hina was bullied because she stood by the girl that was being bullied by the rest of the class then. Man those bullies really are taking things way to far though. Plus the teachers are so uncaring towards the situation. Given that her childhood friend was forced to change schools because of the bullies and because Hina couldn't do anything no wonder she's so upset. Its nice seeing Hina stick by her beliefs even at this point. But its sweet hearing Rei's words for Hina though. Its a nice contrast seeing Hina read about sweets while Rei reads about plants and bugs. Seeing Hina like that Rei's thoughts are natural. Such an emotional episode but Hina was right to stand up for her friend though.

Powerful.

I particularly liked Hinata's tearful declaration, it takes courage to remain headstrong after all that. Although, even the strongest of people occasionally need to rely on others. At least Hinata is not lacking in that regard.

Watched Yuuki Yuuna right before this. Hmmm, 40 minutes of weepy Kana...

The way they built the situation was a tad too cliche maybe? The antagonists were stereotypes. Not a big problem, but I expect a bit more from such a great franchise.

Grandpa should have kept shut.

Unfortunately I was one of the grey guys back in school.
